On 27 June, 2007 a conference entitled "
Analytic Systems for Visual Investigative Analysis", organized by
Real Systems,
AZRY Rational Solutions (ARS) and the
Transnational Crime and Corruption Center - Caucasus Office (TRACCC CO), was held at the Tbilisi Marriott hotel. The conference intended to introduce and demonstrate the successfully employed systems in the European countries and Canada for the visual investigative analysis of information on money laundering, crime, corruption, smuggling and terrorism. The conference was targeted at law enforcement bodies, intelligence and counterintelligence departments, ministries of defense, security, and finance, prosecutors' offices, border police, customs departments, financial monitoring services, commercial banks, telecommunications and regulatory commissions for communications, insurance companies, as well as and other big financial institutions. At the conference, the attendees were greeted by Natalie Gabechava of ARS. The Estonian expert, Juia Jaamees, a project manager at Real Systems, conducted a detailed demonstration of the systems for visual investigative analysis, such as the products of i2: the Analyst's Notebook, ibridge, and ibase. The creation of a consortium for the Introduction and Development of Analytical System for the Promotion of Criminal Investigation in Georgia by the participating organizations (Real Systems, ARS, and TRACCC CO) was announced. Ephemia Loria, the TRACCC CO project coordinator, spoke about the benefits and main goals of the consortium. Through the introduction and development of the analytic systems, the consortium intends to strengthen the rule of law and improve crime prevention and information sharing at the international level. The management of the Consortium was delegated to Prof. Alexandre Kukhianidze, director of TRACCC CO. The consortium participants agreed on the methods and mechanisms for successful cooperation.
